Overview of Additional Activities at CFAC:
The Multidisciplinary Team:
CFAC has a multidisciplinary team (MDT) of professionals comprised of representatives across sectors: law enforcement, schools, child protective services, the State’s Attorney’s office, mental health and medical providers, and sexual assault crisis staff who meet monthly for case review. Team members operate with interagency agreements and protocols and are empanelled by the state. The purpose of case review is information sharing regarding the investigation, case status, recommendations for victim services, and assessing the community’s capacity to provide services. All team members have the opportunity to share their expertise and contribute to case planning. Additionally, systemic strengths and areas in need of improvement will be identified through the case review process.
Enhancing Professional Skills among interdisciplinary partners:
Opportunities for professional development and training are available to MDT members. CFAC staff annually solicits team members and interagency partners for training needs and requests. Time is allotted at monthly MDT meetings for cross-training.
